Col. E. C. Dothard Safety Education Museum
The Colonel E. C. Dothard Safety Education Museum is named in honor of the Public
Safety director under whose direction the museum was created in 1974.
Exhibits include a monument on the front steps of the building to department members
killed in the line of duty. Other exhibits include a 1936 patrol vehicle, a 1972
Javelin, various weapons displays, gambling and narcotic paraphernalia, early radio
equipment, shoulder patch collections, badges and uniforms worn by patrol officers
through the years.
The museum is located at Public Safety Headquarters, 301 South Ripley St., in Montgomery.
It is open to the public.
